Belsizepark Carpetcleaning Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Belsizepark Carpetcleaning provides carpet and upholstery cleaning services to domestic and commercial customers in the UK. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing our operatives to commence work, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order. They are designed to explain the service process clearly, including how bookings are made, how payments work, when cancellations may apply, what liability limits are in place, how waste is handled, and which law governs the agreement.
Throughout this document, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Belsizepark Carpetcleaning. References to “you” and “your” mean the customer, client, or person making the booking. These terms apply to all carpet cleaning services, rug cleaning, stain treatment, upholstery cleaning, end-of-tenancy cleaning where carpet cleaning is included, and any related cleaning services provided under a quotation or booking confirmation.
The carpet cleaning service terms below are intended to be fair and transparent. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
1. Booking Process
A booking is usually made after we have received details of the required service, including the type of property, the size and condition of the carpets or soft furnishings, and any special considerations such as access restrictions, stain history, or the presence of pets or vulnerable materials. We may provide an estimate or quotation based on the information you supply. Any quotation is subject to inspection of the actual work required and may be revised if the circumstances differ from the information initially provided.
A booking is only confirmed when we have accepted the job and provided a confirmation, whether verbally, in writing, or by electronic means. You are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied at the time of booking is accurate and complete. This includes the address, preferred time window, property access arrangements, parking information if relevant, and whether electricity, hot water, and adequate working space will be available.
If the job requires specialist treatment, moving of furniture, or the use of pre-treatment products for heavy soiling, we may note this in the booking confirmation. Please understand that the carpet cleaning terms and conditions apply to any additions, amendments, or on-site changes agreed after the original booking, unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. Access, Preparation, and Customer Responsibilities
It is your responsibility to ensure that the area to be cleaned is ready for work at the agreed time. This may include removing fragile items, valuables, personal belongings, and breakable objects from the working area. We are not responsible for clearing rooms unless this has been expressly agreed in advance. If furniture moving is included, only reasonable and safe handling will be undertaken, and we may decline to move heavy, unstable, or hazardous items.
You must ensure safe access to the premises and a suitable working environment. Where access is delayed or prevented by circumstances outside our control, we may charge for waiting time, wasted attendance, or a rebooking fee. If carpets or upholstery are excessively damaged, wet, contaminated, or unsuitable for cleaning, we reserve the right to refuse the service or limit the scope of work. We will not be liable for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, or wear that becomes more visible after cleaning.
If an area contains biological contamination, mould, asbestos risk, hazardous chemicals, or sharps, you must notify us before the appointment. We may refuse to work where conditions are unsafe or unlawful. The Belsizepark Carpetcleaning service agreement also requires that you tell us about delicate dyes, unstable fibres, colour run risk, or previous treatment by another contractor.
3. Pricing, Quotes, and Payments
Prices may be provided as fixed rates, indicative estimates, or calculated from a final site assessment. Unless expressly stated, quotations are based on the information you have given and may change if the actual work differs. Additional charges may apply for stain removal, heavy soiling, large rooms, restricted access, parking costs, urgent appointments, or extra time on site. Any such charges will be explained where reasonably possible before proceeding.
Payment is due in full on completion of the service unless we have agreed alternative terms in writing beforehand. We may accept payment by bank transfer, card, cash, or another approved method. If payment is not made at the time required, we may charge reasonable recovery costs and interest on overdue sums where permitted by law. Title to any goods supplied, if applicable, remains with us until full payment has been received.
Where a deposit has been requested to secure a booking, it may be non-refundable in the circumstances set out in the cancellation section. Deposits are used to reserve labour, equipment, and scheduling capacity. Payment terms for carpet cleaning form part of the overall contract and apply whether the service is for a home, landlord-managed property, office, or other commercial premises.
4. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows
Cancellations or requests to reschedule should be made as early as possible. If you cancel with sufficient notice, we will usually offer a new date where practicable. However, if the appointment is cancelled at short notice, or if our operatives arrive and cannot carry out the work because access is unavailable or conditions are unsuitable, a cancellation fee or wasted journey charge may apply. The exact amount may depend on the time reserved, travel committed, and any special preparation already undertaken.
If you need to reschedule, we will try to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee availability. During busy periods, alternative dates may be limited. We may cancel or postpone a booking if weather conditions, equipment failure, staffing issues, or safety concerns make it unreasonable or unsafe to proceed. In such cases, we will seek to offer a new appointment as soon as reasonably possible, and any prepaid amount relating to unperformed work will be dealt with fairly.
For consumer bookings made at a distance, you may have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations where applicable, but these rights may be limited once the service has been fully performed or where you have expressly requested an early start. The UK carpet cleaning terms in this section are intended to operate consistently with your legal rights and the nature of the service booked.
5. Liability and Service Standards
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to do so, we may, at our discretion, re-perform the affected element of the service, provide an appropriate partial refund, or agree another reasonable remedy. Our liability for direct loss arising from our negligence, breach of contract, or breach of statutory duty is limited to the amount you have paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where the law does not allow such limitation.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, loss of business, inconvenience, or missed opportunities, unless such liability cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. We also do not accept responsibility for pre-existing damage, poor material condition, hidden faults, colour fastness issues, or shrinkage caused by inherent defects in the material.
Because carpet and upholstery fibres vary widely, we cannot guarantee the complete removal of all stains, odours, allergens, or marks. Some stains may be permanent or may reappear due to residue, wicking, or prior treatment. We may provide advice on aftercare, but any recommendation is given in good faith and does not amount to a guarantee. The carpet cleaning liability policy should be interpreted reasonably, taking into account the condition of the item before treatment and the limitations of the material itself.
6. Waste, Disposal, and Environmental Compliance
All waste arising from the service will be handled in accordance with applicable UK waste regulations and environmental requirements. This includes spent water, used consumables, packaging, removed debris, and any waste generated as a direct result of the cleaning process. Where waste must be taken away by us, we will dispose of it responsibly and in compliance with legal obligations. You agree to provide accurate information about any contaminated waste or materials that may require special handling.
You must not ask us to remove or dispose of hazardous, illegal, or controlled waste unless this has been expressly agreed and can lawfully be undertaken. If we discover substances that may present a risk to health, safety, or the environment, we may stop work immediately and request further instructions. Any additional disposal costs caused by undisclosed waste, contamination, or exceptional handling requirements may be charged to you if permitted by law.
We aim to operate as a responsible carpet and upholstery cleaning provider and may use cleaning products and methods designed to reduce environmental impact where practical. However, the effectiveness and suitability of materials can vary, and we may need to use specialist products to achieve the intended result. Waste obligations form part of our broader duty to conduct the service safely and lawfully.
7. Damage, Complaints, and Claims
If you believe damage has occurred during the service, you should notify us as soon as reasonably possible and, where practical, before any item is moved, repaired, or discarded. This helps us assess the issue properly. We may ask for photographs, product labels, receipts, or other supporting evidence. Any claim should be made promptly and in any event within a reasonable time after the service is completed.
We will investigate complaints in good faith and may inspect the item, review the work method, and consider whether the issue was caused by our actions or by pre-existing conditions. If a problem is attributable to our service, we may offer a remedy consistent with these terms and applicable law. We are not responsible for damage caused by ordinary wear and tear, unsuitable materials, undisclosed defects, or customer handling after completion.
Where third-party items are present in the working area, including electronics, ornaments, flooring, and personal possessions, you remain responsible for moving or protecting them unless we have agreed otherwise. The Belsizepark Carpetcleaning conditions do not create insurance cover for items that were already fragile, poorly assembled, unstable, or not intended to be in a cleaning environment.
8. Force Majeure and Service Interruptions
We shall not be liable for delay or failure to perform our obligations where such delay or failure results from events beyond our reasonable control. These may include extreme weather, fire, flood, industrial action, transport disruption, illness, supply shortages, power failure, or government restrictions. In such circumstances, performance may be suspended for the duration of the event and we may rearrange the service without liability for associated inconvenience or delay.
If a force majeure event materially affects a booking, we will use reasonable efforts to contact you and provide a revised appointment or an alternative arrangement. Where work has not yet started, any prepaid amount relating to unperformed service will be addressed fairly in light of the circumstances. If part of the service has already been completed, payment may remain due for the portion successfully delivered.
9. Governing Law and General Provisions
These terms and any dispute or claim arising from them, whether contractual or non-contractual, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or business changes. The version in force at the time of your booking will generally apply to that booking unless a newer version has been agreed. If any term is found unenforceable, that term shall be treated as deleted to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining terms shall continue in full force and effect.
By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions. These provisions are intended to provide a clear framework for a professional Belsizepark Carpetcleaning service, ensuring that both parties understand their responsibilities and the limits of the arrangement.
